A SIMPLE WORD CAN CHANGE A LIFE

Have you ever noticed how a simple smile, a kind greeting, or a few encouraging words can completely change someone's day?

We live in a fast-paced world where many people are carrying burdens that are hidden from view. The person standing in line at the grocery store, the cashier ringing up your purchase, the neighbor next door, or the stranger passing by may be fighting battles you know nothing about. Sometimes what they need most is not a solution, but simply to be seen, acknowledged, and treated with kindness.

As believers, God calls us to look beyond ourselves and become aware of the people around us. Instead of being consumed with our own schedules, needs, and concerns, we should be intentional about creating space for others. A warm smile, a sincere "How are you today?", or a word of encouragement may be the very thing God uses to lift a discouraged heart.

The Bible reminds us:

"Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares."Hebrews 13:2 (KJV)

Think about that for a moment. Every encounter is an opportunity to extend God's love and grace. We never know who God may place in our path or how our actions may impact another person's life.

God's Word also instructs us:

"Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do."1 Thessalonians 5:11 (KJV)

Our words have power. They can wound or heal, discourage or inspire, tear down or build up. Let us choose words that reflect the heart of Christ. Let our conversations be seasoned with kindness, compassion, and grace.

The next time you are out in the marketplace, at work, in your neighborhood, or attending church, make a conscious effort to look beyond yourself. Ask God to help you notice someone who may need encouragement. Offer a smile. Speak a blessing. Extend a greeting. Invite someone into your space.

You may never know how much your kindness means to someone. A simple word may be the answer to a prayer, the encouragement they desperately needed, or the reminder that God sees them and loves them.

Today, be the reason someone feels seen, valued, encouraged, and loved.

A simple word can change a day. A kind heart can change a life.

These folded hands tell a story—not just of hard work, but of holy stillness. Because true strength isn’t just found in doing… it’s found in knowing when to be still.

In a world that applauds hustle, I’ve learned to honor the holy pause.

This is something I recently discovered, and I want to share it with you.

It’s important for me to rest—because I have such a passion for the calling and work that God has placed on my life. And I want to show up fully present, anointed, and energized for every assignment He gives. Rest isn’t something I can afford to neglect—it’s something I must embrace.

Rest isn’t optional—it’s essential.

It’s the space where God refreshes our minds, restores our strength, and whispers new vision into our hearts. It’s where healing happens. Where clarity comes. Where the next assignment is prepared.

Even God rested on the seventh day—not because He was tired, but to set a divine example. You weren’t made to run on empty. You were made to overflow.

We weren’t created to burn out—we were created to burn bright.

And you can’t burn bright if your flame is out.

So today, I encourage you to lay down the guilt.

Put down the phone. Close the laptop. Breathe deeply.

Fold your hands—not just in work, but in worship and surrender.

Be intentional about entering God’s rest. Let your soul inhale peace and exhale pressure. Let rest become part of your rhythm, not just your recovery. It’s not selfish—it’s sacred.
